Well my boyfriend and I snagged a really good buy and sell on an apartment, so we HAD to take it. The with the sole purpose thing is, our strange extremely huge living room has some slight stains on the wall (stains as if a smoker have perviously lived there, they are yellowish, or clear the wall faded looking and you can see the outline of where posters and things have been limp on the wall). I was lately curious what would be the best method to clean a wall (i meditate its paint)? and if it is caused by cigarette smoke is it possible to seize it off (im going to try regardless probably :P merely to make it look better if possible)?
Answers: See if you can find a product call TSP (Tri sodium phosphate) or one similar. I actually found some within a dollar store! Follow the directions for mixing as it can be pretty strong stuff. You can either wipe down the walls beside rags, or what I prefer, use a sponge-type mop near the hands-free wringer. These are cheap at Wal-mart, Target, etc. Test a small area of the wall first to take home sure it won't hurt the surface. You don't want to scrub too hard or you'll steal the paint off. I would plainly clean previously painting.
I'm not sure if it'll work, but I know that the Mr. Clean Magic Eraser works wonders on everything else. The item is, it's a very strong cleaning agent and I want to enunciate that the eraser will take paint past its sell-by date the walls while it's at it. I'm gonna have to agree that drawing is your best bet.. plus you can paint a color you like instead. :) and when you move, you can paint it posterior to primer white and get your deposit backbone too. :)
