I don't know if it's our carpet, slippers, or somthing else but we win static shocks ALL the time in our house, i don't denote a little shock any, if we turn on a light it's a huge spark and when we touch respectively other it really hurts, i have shocked my 1 year out-of-date soooo many times (poor thing). What do i do to draw from rid of Static Shocks? Will Shampooing my carpets sort it worse or better?
Answers: Hello Bronzo. What you are experiencing is a direct result of too low humidity in a home. Best results and living are between 30% and 40%. Less than 30% and you dry out carpeting, furniture, nasal passage ( nosebleeds) and static electric shocks. From the degree you mention, it sounds approaching your level is extremely low ( 10% or so). For a impermanent fix, get a low cost room humidifier. Or you can even place bowls of marine with rag in them within different rooms to let the humidity build rear up. I dont know what type of heating you enjoy, but if you have forced hot nouns, the best and permanent fix would be to install a humidifier right at the furnace. AprilAire is a brand that comes to mind,,,,but you can check out different brands. They run in the order of $225 new, install technically easily right to the plenum chamber outside the furnace and touch into a cold water pipe. I hope you can find this adjectives to you.
low moisture is the cause especially surrounded by winter. Static guard works well, but the smell is a short time horrible. Humidifiers really help. Anything that bring surrounded by moisture to the house will help most of the issues you are have. Even drier sheets work to a small degree.
