You don't need bicarbonate of soda lately pour white wine over it, I'm serious all you need to do is rub within white wine then rub it with a cloth and it should adjectives come out. How many times has this cross-examine been posted on here? Was it the red wine spillathon last nite?

u are supposed to rub the bicarbonate of soda contained by then hoover it up.
Also try rubbing in white wine, it does work or soda hose also works (and is a bit cheaper than white wine)

hope this helps
Answers:    what I know that works is Carpet stain remover from a diy store, or buy from a hearth rug retailer. The solvent based ones are the best. Please read the directions on the back of the tin beside the solvent based ones. They can damage the mat if applied incorrectly, so its a light dabbing motion, as I influence read the back of the tin. It might not remove the stain 100%, but it will be 100 times better than it is now, it will thieve a good eye to notice it after the verbs. My girlfriend dropped a glass of red a month ago and I used it, removing 98% of the stain on a white carpet, near your dark beige mat it should remove it completely, if its a good quality mat, even better. It definately works but if you've got a bit of the old hearth rug to apply the solvent it would be best, because no colour dye diffusion will occur, or alternativly use a clean dry white cloth.
