i have a camel color shag rug. it's been through like mad this summer and i want to know what is the best (and easiest) way to clean it? I don't hold a carpet cleaner, so i will be doing most of it by hand.

Take it out side and hang down it over something. hose it down, have a bucket of soapy water and a scrub brush on mitt. scrub it down with the brush and soapy water. Then hose rotten the soap. Let air dry.When it is dry,fluff with a broom or brush.
