How do you remove the ring that forms at the top of the water vein in a toliet?

Answers: the Pumice stone does work great, of late insure that it is one of the white ones. Brown pumice will stain the porcelain. They sell them specifically for cleaning within many retailers. If not saline scrub works well also mix some Epsom's next to water and use some elbow grease.
If it is rust use CLR you can find it at Home Depot.
