I have a mitt crocheted throw that was drenched surrounded by cooking oil. (I be not present and not sure freshly how it happened!) The throw be washed and dried by someone else past I found out what happened. The stink is horrible. And when I wash it with another blanket, the stink passed on to it! HELP!!!!!!
Answers: Wash it within the machine again near your usual detergent, and put a cup of white vinegar in the softener drawer. Vinegar is great for removing smells, and is also a degreaser.
Try rewash both items separately near a teaspoon of vanilla extract added to the wash. Then in the past you place them in the dryer, put a few drops of vanilla extract on a verbs cloth and put in next to it. My son used to work at McDonald's and his uniforms other reeked of grease smell even after wash until I discovered the trick with vanilla extract. It really works!
