i just turned on our iron,its a tefal one that sits on a a big container for steam.
Lots ot brown water come out when i pressed the steam button.
Now the hot plate has gone a brownie black colour and i cant carry it off.
My wifes gonna snuff out me!
How can i get the gunk stale the plate without scrape off adjectives the non stick stuff?

Answers: make a solution of 1/2 cup ammonia cleaner and 1/2 gallon dampen, soak an old towel surrounded by it, wring out but not too dry, and iron (hot iron) over that several times to remove the gunk. It will stink, but it'll clean it lacking damaging the teflon coating.
