Olive grease vs. granite? I left a sandwich with olive grease in it on my REAL...

I left a sandwich with olive grease in it on my REAL granite countertop all hours of darkness. STUPID.!
Now I have a stain and I need to know how to achieve rid of it. It's a brand new counter and has not be completely sealed as yet..sooo..one natural stone, and porous,it soaked the oil right up.
It's probably Italian granite and couldn't back itself. Ha Ha
Seriously...please help me solve this problem. Of course the stain is right in the middle of the counter where on earth it can't be hidden.

Thanks,
D
Answers:    Poultice treatments work their best on rust and oil stains. You can find them -- even ready-mixed -- at the hardware or home supply store. No brand comes to mind so only just make sure it's for granite, lol.

Basically, this is a powder-based mixture you'll put on the stain and leave to dry for up to a time. As it dries, it works to soak up the stain.

I may be being overly careful, but given the fragile moral fibre of unsealed stone I wouldn't recommend putting anything else on the stain -- other than soft white cloth -- since chemicals/ingredients could react next to the stone in bad ways.
Pour some saline, baking soda or a bit of cat litter onto the area and allow it to soak up the oils for you. If it is going to be a while in the past you can get it sealed, I recommend getting a roomy piece of plexi glass cut to fit the surface to protect it.
