What can I do to care for leather shoes surrounded by midwest winters? The roads get salted on a regular reason, and I can see the salt stains on my clean shoes. Sure, leather cream will help maintain it nice, assuming the weather is just rainfall. Is there something to acquire the salt out of the leather? Keep the saline out of the leather to begin next to?
Answers: If your shoes are already wet from trudging through snow etc and own the salted concoction on/in them then rinse next to regular water throughly when you grasp home and then stuff near newspaper-replace twice a day. If you own a pair that own dried already try a damp cloth to remove residue on the surface- subsequent time they are soaked, do as above to flush.
Apply a good leather conditioner/protector periodically- but leather breathes and is porous-it will soak surrounded by the salty concoction of snow, rime salt, road grime etc- anything that would completely block this wouldnt be pious for the leather.
try a good saloon wax.
