hi in that! i'm a chemical engineering graduate. you can make laundry detergents but you really own to deal near really harmful chemicals resembling hydroxides (which i believe are very expensive) and are terribly strong health and skin hazard. what's more, you need to consult whit your local strength department to determine the right formula for your soap. if you need detergents or hip bath soaps, it is always better that you buy soaps from infamous companies (like tide from procter and gamble). as their products are sure to comply to the standards of the government and are other tried and tested by many. if you build cheap detergents, chances are your strength may be at risk and you'll spend more for hospitalization or clinic visits.
Laundry detergent is worth spending a little bit of money on, because a upright laundry detergent will help hold on to your clothes looking good for longer, which finances that you don't have to replace them as regularly.
I know someone who washes her clothes surrounded by a little bit of shampoo, and they look dingy and dull after only a couple of washings. Answers: The easiest, cheapest way is to grate up a dowel of Ivory soap and mix it with Borax and Washing Soda. Fels-Naptha soap can also be used.
I've solely tried doing this with Ivory. My suggestion would be to try the Fels-Naptha first. Ivory doesn't grate economically. At least it didn't for me.
Another entry you'll want to do when using this type of laundry soap is to always make a payment white vinegar to the rinse cycle. It is supposed to help remove the built up soap residue. About a cup of vinegar. I other put it in where on earth the fabric softener is supposed to walk.
