i have a ton of clothes in my closet that i never use so i donated them to devout will. but now i'm left beside all the extra books, notebooks from classes i took 2 years ago that i haven't read, and only a ton of stuff in general that i hold no more space for.
i have no idea what to get hold of rid of and how to organize the stuff i already have. can anyone assistance!?
first of adjectives get rid of the things you dont need or dont use anymore; after you do that put books on a shelf, and put adjectives other random items where you contemplate they belong

hope this helps
sincerely ex-packrat lol
Fact of the matter is, you're going to acquire overwhelmed if you do it all at once. My advice is to do whaat FlyLady call a 27 fling boogie. Everyday go through your things and put 27 items that are to be thrown away in a rucksack, tie the bag up, and get rid of it (removed temptation). Second, put 27 things you can present away in a bag or box and gain rid of it. Do this everyday and before you know it, the clutter is gone, you don't get overwhelmed, and you aid a lot of people surrounded by the community. Good luck and best wishes. ask for some boxes from a local store or gas station.

start in one room (we'll say bedroom). stir through every inch of it. if you haven't touched it or used it within the last year, put it surrounded by the box to be donated (if you think it can be donated, otherwise suck it up and throw it away).

after you've gotten rid of things that you don't use, invest in some shelving or plastic storage drawers.
check out http://www.flylady.com/ she is a miracle worker good luck

Pick one project and stick with it until you finish, later start on another one.

Slowly but surely it will come together.
Answers:    I've moved like a million times! I used to be a packrat until i had to pack and unpack adjectives my useless (excuse my french) crap! If i find a box of stuff I haven't used or looked at (with the exception of special handmade stuff) in more than a year, I throw it out! Start a scrapbook, if there are things pictures, packages, or other things i cant find a good reason to hold on to, i let it go. There are some things I am sentimentally attatched to. I newly try to find a way to display these things. Books...If they are school books you might try to trade them on ebay, sometimes students will try to save money on schoolbooks even if they are outdated, I was one of those students, notebook with notes from class (ive have lots and lots almost 10 years worth) I have found to be most UNuseful! If there be a class that had exceptional notes and explanations, you could buy a binder that will contain those. Most defining thing to remember is , if it is not sentimental or useful, you can consent to it go, besides if your not using it now, what are the likelihood you'll miss it in a couple of years (maybe even a couple of months...days even?)
