I would like to know how to bathe a 58 sleeping bag. It is the one used by the British and it contains down(duck feathers).

If I construe your question, you want to launder a minus 58 level down filled sleeping pod (or is it a 1958 sleeping bag).
Either way, why would you want to risk a expensive or pricey bag within a washing apparatus that could (and likely would) desecrate your bag? Take it to a reputable dry cleaner and own them verify that they can do the job. Talk to the superintendent, not just a clerk. Inspect it together, and inspect it again when they are done.

Go to the Laundromat & use their Industrial washers & dryers. These machines are designed to wipe up larger, heavier items like sleeping heaps. - OR - Have it Dry Cleaned. They use the larger machines too, but they don't use water. - Solvents & cleaning chemicals, instead that will sterilize, and do a better available job of cleaning, which the Laundromat won't do. Sure, it'll cost a little more, but they're trained to do what they do & 98 percent of the time, the item will not be dog-eared and they will do a better job than you can do yourself.
