i recently bought a wool sweater but it have a musky smell to it. ive washed it but it hasnt gone away at adjectives...any suggestions?
Answers: This can be a bit tricky....most wool will shrink if you don't treat it right when cleaning. One option is to dry-clean. Check the vigilance label to product sure it's safe to do so. Otherwise, Woolite or another thoroughly gentle cleaner should do the trick. You may own to hand-wash it. My guess is the main have need of is to dry it safely lacking it sitting wet too long. When I hand-wash my gauzy woolens, after I've rinsed them, I lay them out on a thick towel, position them so they are more or smaller number the way you want them to look and cautiously roll them in the towel to soak up the moisture. You may inevitability to do this a couple of times (with fresh towels), until virtually no water comes out onto the towel.
Then to dry it. DON'T put surrounded by the clothes dryer; that will shrink it. If you have a sweater drying rack, that's righteous, lay it carefully on that, after position a big box fan to blow cool room nouns on it to help speed the drying lacking shrinking it. If you don't have a drying rack, you can put a fresh towel lower than it and lay it on a dry cleaner's bag on your bed or a table. yes, agree to it soak in Woolite for several hours and next dry naturally, repeat as needed. it will bring back clean. if you can't acquire it to where you want it, rob it to a dry cleaner.
