My kids got to the red food colouring and i hold tried to wash/scrub it off. What would be the best bearing to remove it from their hands???????????
Answers: Red food coloring is not stable within an alkaline environment. Most foods are acidic so the red colors are brilliant and stable.
When I use red to brand eggs, marzipan shapes, dye wool, dye paper, or color many crafts it will often stain the hand. I use dishwasher detergent and a small amount of water. It will grain grainy and may even win warm when you make the addition of the water. This will remove the red from your hand and arms quickly and well. It is very complicated to remove the red color from the thickened, limp skin that surrounds the fingernails.
Wet your hands, supply about a teaspoon of dry dishwasher detergent, scrub the hand together and sing the ABC song TWICE. Then rinse in cool hose. You may need to repeat once or twice. Most of the red will later be gone.
Make sure to use lots of good lotion afterward. Alkaline cleaners are relentless on the skin.
If you've tried bleach or oliveoil and a big gob of salt as a scrub, lemon liquid.......then time is the answer. I color my mane red and sometimes end up next to red fingers because I remove my gloves too early. I swim though and the hour within the pool seems to remove abundantly of residual color as well as the grease in my skin. So perchance that's it, wash adequate to dry your skin and pull out the color?
