I want to hire a friend of mine who will clean it for me.
My house is in the order of 3800 square feet and have not been kept deeply clean, I'm ashamed to say-so.

You mentioned hiring a friend, but I would have another look at that. I have friends who own worked for Merry Maids while they were going to conservatory and they always have stories about things they've found within customers' homes. Whoever cleans your house sees everything - your dirty laundry, your trash, your medication, etc. and is able to piece together adjectives kinds of personal info almost your life. That may be for a while awkward if a friend is the one cleaning your house, especially if they like to prattle on occasion. I'd fairly have an anonymous cleaning company surrounded by.
