place wax newspaper over the wax in the runner then dance over it with a hot iron. The wax should grip to the paper.
When I be young I used to play near wax cus I thought it was fun. so my mom found out what to do.
Put a tuff newspaper towl over the wax and use an Iron. works like a charm. construct sure you dont turn it up to high.
Answers: J.R. and Deb are right, freeze the wax first with rime cubes, then sliver off what you can near a knife, any remaining afterward, run a thaw out iron over it to melt the rest. Just be cautious the wax won't ruin the carpet.
