How do you carry rid of little worms surrounded by your mat? helppp!? i was cleaning out my closet and i moved soemthing in within...

i was cleaning out my closet and i moved soemthing in within and i found little worms all on my carpet. they look mealworms but i dont know how they get there or how to get rid of them. i vaccuumed them up but i purely know they are going to come back. i have a verbs house so it annoys me that they are there. please help me.. how do you carry them gone and to never come backkk?
