Answers:    If you want to actually play the entity again, spend the money and take it to an instrument shop. They will impart it an acid hip bath. Then, clean it next to warm hose down and mild soap every week after use to keep the corrosion rank down. Use petrolium jelly to "shine" and protect after washing and drying. (I have my trombone done and they did a good duty. The rust is from "spit" inside the instrument and usually only an sour bath will work.) Good Luck!
