How do i work an iron...?

Plug it in, consent to it heat up, put your clothes on an ironing board and lightly rub over clothes.

Assuming you know the essentials ( plug it in , put some water contained by the reservoir, wait for it to heat up back using ), I'll cover advanced topics.

Heat - make the heat clash what you are ironing, basically really hot for cotton, and medium for everything else.

Use a sturdy flat surface but one that isn't dirty because the iron will burn the dirt into your cloths. an ironing board works, but another flat object covered with a verbs towel will also do the trick.

Go with the grain for best results.

Don't iron areas where on earth the clothing is bunched up. You'll iron in wrinkles!

Ironing doesn't work well until you've wash the clothing at least once. Trust me, I've bought shirts that I needed to wear on hot date and no amount of ironing would "stick" until after I washed them.
Answers:    Depending on what type of cloth you're dealing with determines how you iron it.

As my mother raised me making my own clothes, here are the fundamentals.
Most irons come with steam settings. Cotton requires the highest bake. Ironing a shirt or blouse will require different heat settings. A man's shirt will (if done properly) will require a steam setting for the cuffs and collar plus a bit of starch if desired.

As for a ladie's blouse, it will require a cooler setting. Depends on the fabric. DO NOT IRON SILK! DO NOT IRON RAYON!

Most fabric come with a tag surrounded by the neck which tells you how to verbs it and iron treatments. Most Rayons require a Dry Cleaning. as in take it to a D.C.

If you are ironing a skirt, you want to progress with the grain and it will iron prettier. If you are ironing a dress, mind of any details.

If you are ironing pants, you will want to pull together the inside seam and lay them together one leg at a time lengthwise on the ironing board and put a crease in the front of them if they are dress/casual such as Khaki pants or denim dress pant. If you are ironing a jacket, be very careful how you do it as you can put irremediable creases in where you don't want and it won't look right.

If you are ironing a elegant fabric such as a dresser cloth or scarf, lay the scarf on the ironing board, then a single layered mitt towel lengthwise on top of it and with no steam you want to skim evenly over it. You may use a low dry or medium setting. Again, here, it depends on the fabric.

Hope I help and haven't bored you but that is the proper way of ironing most anything.

You may e-mail me near any questions I haven't answered here. I'll try to help further if I can.
Fill it with water and turn it on. you will know that its hot when you lick your finger (get it valid wet) and touch the iron real quick. If it sizzles its organized. Then run it over the wrinkles in whatever your ironing. Use even pressure and be sure not to hold it still (you'll burn the fabric). Turn it on and permit it heat up. Then use it to quickly step over your clothes. Don't leave it on one spot too long or it will burn.
depends on what considerate you have. they pretty much all at present have a spot for you to fill up marine in it so that you can steam wrinkles out. they should have differnent seetings on it so that you can pick depending on what sensitive of clothing you are using it on.

just keep moving it or you will burn the clothing...and that would not be honest...

best of luck
