I handwashed my Columbia down jacket and then consent to it dry out but the feathers somehow clumped together and some feathers fell out during the wash. How do I fix it in need throwing it away? And it has this funky smell coming bad the jacket now...is it because the feathers rotted?
put within the dryer with tennis ball to prevent clumping. Also use low heat setting.
Rewash it and put it in the dryer any with tennis ball or a pair of verbs sneakers. The smell is from the damp feathers. You entail to dry it until BONE dry. The slightest bit of moisture will smell again.
The reason the feathers are coming out is that the textile covering them is not a high adequate thread count. It's going to continue.
