I just spilled some iodine (5% i think) on my desk, don't ask how. Ive wiped it near comet, tide, stain remover, vinegar, water, it seems to hold just soaked in... The desk have a polished surface, so i dont think it actually did soak surrounded by, but nothing seems to purloin it off. Will it just vanish over time?
Answers: * Try a chemical called "Sodium thio-Sulphate" (used in aquariums for aging river, neutralizing chlorine).
- This will neutralize the Iodine spill as well.
- It worked within a Hospital theater room with same problem.
Good luck!
once the stain is set you are basically SOL. Iodine is used for a stain within addition to its antiseptic qualities. You could try peroxide or ammonia, but you would probably despoil the wood surface.
