Simple Green and mercy. I had to remove a type of seal tar, similar to roofing asphalt, and #6 fuel oil from my Carhartts. I found blistering the heavy tarmacadam off and pretreating them beside pure Simple Green works. I have also soaked them within a bucket with a 50/50 mix of wet and Simple Green to take out really glutinous stuff. If I soak them, I usually double rinse them to remove all of the soap.
