How do I procure rid of cigarette burns surrounded by hearth rug? My husband and I live in a rented apartment and our lease...
My husband and I live in a rented apartment and our lease in almost up, and we are moving, we enjoy numerous cigarette burns in our carpet, is within anyway to fix this or make it not as noticable?
not unless you replace the runner a burn changes the chemical properties of the material within is no way to get it out or even breed it less noticeable
No bearing that first idea will work especially with multiple burns it would look shocking
try this
1Cut or sand away the burned ends of the hearth rug fibers. Cut fibers will simply blend in if they're only slightly shorter than the surrounding hearth rug.
Step2Cut some carpet fibers from an inconspicuous portion of carpet elsewhere contained by the room or from a matching carpet remnant and attach them to the cut fibers using household gum, if the remaining fibers are noticeably shorter than the surrounding carpet.
you dont,,,,, you should replace the carpet,,,, your landlord is entitled to bill you for it as cigerette burns dont come below normal wear and tear,,,, try smokin elsewhere at ur different place if the carpet not urs
Jenifer MAY help you hide it, but if it be my place I would be pissed. I smoke too, so this is coming from a smoker. You gotta take responsibility for what you do. If you are going to smoke, you have to be carefull not to burn anything. Hiding the incapacitate is one of many things giving smokers a bad reputation.
Having said that, when I be broke and renting, I would have tried trimming the fibers in the mat to hide it too. cutting stale the singed ends of the pile with scissors is what I've done. It's not perfect but at least possible you can't see it from across the room.
Answers: no offense, but Jennifer's answer will never work. the only choice is to replace the runner. I wouldn't expect to get your deposit back and would not be surprised it you get an additional bill to pay for the labor. If I be you i would pay to have the hearth rug replaced yourself with MATCHING carpet & I would own it done before you move. This way you cna find the best operation and get it done cheap & get your deposit fund to pay for it.
My house is -No PETS - and the people who lived here back us had a dog, & the landlord kept their deposit PLUS they have to pay the replacement bill. I guess it was over $1500 to replace adjectives the carpeting. So your the best bet would be for you to redo the carpet yourself.
