To clean a tent, use a non-abrasive sponge and considerately scrub soiled areas by hand. Use cold hose down and a non-detergent soap. Rinse thoroughly, then set it up surrounded by a shady spot and let it nouns dry completely.

Machine-washing a tent is discouraged, and machine-drying a tent is simply NOT an option; the steam could cause the nylon to distort or liquefy.

Mildew can develop any time your tent is stored wet. It looks unpromising, smells bad and can interfere with your tent's waterproof coatings. DON'T LET IT START. Alas, if it already exists, here's one means of access to approach it:

Try some light scrub with a sponge during a regular cleaning session.

If it's still adjectives, mix one-half cup of Lysol(R) in 1 gallon of hot wet.

Dip a sponge in this solution use it to weakly but thoroughly scrub mildew-afflicted areas.

Set up the tent and allow it to air dry.

Then, mix 1 cup of saline and 1 cup of concentrated lemon juice next to 1 gallon of hot water.

Rub the solution into the noticeable mildew and once again, allow the tent to dry.

This procedure will stop mildew growth and eliminate the odor, but will not remove the stain.
