I be gonna just add some bleach to hose and shake it up good, and rinse and dry,
But Im not sure that'd be good if I be gonna use it again
So is that the best way or should I do something else?
I USE MINE FOR TEA AND KOOLAID. JUST USE A GOOD HOT WATER AND DISH SOAP AND LET IT SIT FOR A FEW MINUTES AND RINSE AND LET AIR DRY. You don't need to give bleach that will make your tummy up-set. Just rinse out with hot wet,that's it I do this for my baby's sterile water.
Yes, I think a bit of bleach is the best road. The problem with reusing milk jugs is that they don't dry effortlessly, with that small opening. If in that is any moisture left, bacteria from the upper air will grow in there. So, drying is most central. After draining upside-down for a while, put right-side up in the sun or near a bake source to finish getting rid of the humidity. It would be easier and safer to use a water jug (one that previously held marine, like bottled) and reuse -it- for tea or water. They come contained by gallon jugs, like the ones that milk comes surrounded by for less than a dollar.^
Answers: Although I do not have an automatic dishwasher, I other keep some liquid automatic dish detergent handy. It＊s great to soak baked-on items surrounded by your pots and casserole dishes and also works for things like milk jugs. I have also used meaningless bleach bottles to hold liquids I will drink. They are much sturdier than a plastic milk jug. Just rinse ably. The chlorine bleach has already kept the inside of the bottle clean. You a moment ago need to rinse until you no longer can smell the bleach 每 fill beside water overnight, to be disposed of in the morning - and drain upside down till all set to use.
Also remove the label and try to find a less common top, that fits properly 每 I once had a guest freak out because I was pouring cold chilled water out of a bleach jug 每 beside original top. But I had be using it for months.
I think the key here, is to label sure you use a plastic jug that has not held a toxic soft - that may have been occupied by the plastic 每 to later be leached back out into the gooey you are drinking.
Chlorine is in our water, swimming pools, etcetera.
If you rinse the decanter well, you should not have any problem. I recurrently soak plastic containers that have become stained from food in a bleach solution over darkness. The staining is removed and they are squeaky clean.
