Gold assistance!? well my son has freshly decided to clean his uncles lb1000 9...

well my son has freshly decided to clean his uncles lb1000 9 ct gold ingots chain by putting it in bleach. the tie up now has a black tinge to it. i enjoy rinsed it, cleaned it again with washing up juice but it still looks bad.
will this affect the value as he asked my son to verbs it as he was due to sell it! or can i reclaim it? what damage has be done? someone help please!
thank you
He should have washed it near Coke or Pepsi.. It has lost it's value.

Bleach has an acid content and will attack metals...yes it will enjoy reduced the price. You need to take it to a jeweller, they may be capable of put it into a gold plating bath to remove the blackening... My ring fell stale in the rice once and got cooked within it! It went black, but it came out alright within the end, try scrubbing it next to soda crystals
Answers:    irreversable chemical reaction. pilfer it to a jeweler to be buffed.
