I have a attractive mahogany end table that have a candle on it... my dog knocked the lit candle over and I in a minute have a good-looking mahogany end table covered next to wax.

What can I use to take bad the wax without doing any blight (more damage) to this antique?
Answers:    Candle Wax or Gum

Harden the wax or gum with rime wrapped in plastic and humanely lift it rotten the surface with a non-stick spatula or credit card. Allow the surface to dry and follow near a polish.

The little trick I have used for removing candle wax from furniture & runner is heat.Instead of using a blow dryer to grill the wax,I take more or less 6-7paper towels and fold them together. Then I use an iron on med.-low heat, place the composition towels on top of the wax and totally carefully place the iron on the rag towels for about 10-15 second then hold the iron off. Repeat this until the wax is adjectives up. I've found this to work very okay and doesn't take as long as the blow dryer. But,be cautious not to burn yourself or anything else. Just keep the iron on a low temp.and it get plenty hot.

the above site has plentiful other hints and tips you may like to scenery before trying one - as beside many stains, the wax may 'set' once you start messing next to it, so read up first.
An old trick that I use to use ... be simply to take an frail pillowcase and place it over the wax. Then take a "warm" iron and tolerate that heat up to thaw out the wax... It will then hold into the cloth and end of story... Just be solid that the Iron is not "too" hot - or it might damage the finish of the wood.
