We have a GE Washing Machine approx 7 years old. It will not switch cycles. I notice a problem this morning when it was on rinse for like an hour and a partially and the machine was fairly warm. I manually switched it to spin only and after if finally started to drain but then it wouldn't spin. So i turned it off for a few minutes turned it pay for on and now she's spinning away.

I did put a lot of clothes contained by there this morning and the knob was turned to meek slow. Do you think this had anything to do near it?
Your timing switch go out, call some one to come out and replace it

There should be a helpline that came with the wash machine, you should find it in the instruction brochure. They should be able to sort it out, i wouldn't try and fix it myself, this could be dangerous and if you do something wrong you could injure yourself.

Or a short time ago buy a new washing contraption.
Answers:    For a gentle cycle, you probably had it overloaded and consequently on the spin, it was off match because more water stays in the clothes on the kind cycle.
It nouns like the programmer has broken as that will mete out the machine not to switch cycles, so you may have to acquire someone in to look at it, or if you can get a bright machine as it maybe cheaper later getting someone in. Open the washing electrical device pull the tube in the middle and verbs it. When it does not work check the built. When doesn't do buy another washing machine
Mike your pressure switch, or your timer is bad. The pressure switch is about $30.00 DIY and timer is in the order of $65.00 DIY. I have posted a good join below for testing your pressure switch. It has more detail than I can afford. Also make sure 3/16 rubber hose has not come bad bottom of pressure switch from vibration of washer. You If you do it yourself be careful not to cross wires.

Good Luck
