I cleaned out a chest type freezer in model shape from an apartment that an 82 year old man have lived in earlier he was placed into a nursing home because he be a pack rat. The freezer was found plugged contained by under around 50 bags of necessarily garbage. It be full to the very top near solidly frozen meats, fish..etc. Many be dated 2003 expiration. I cleaned it out, soaked in bleach and at someones suggestion gone a bag of charcoal briquests contained by it for over a week. The odor is still there...if you save the top closed, no problem, but open the lid and it chases you out of the house. Does anyone enjoy ANY suggestions on how to get rid of the odor, its contained by perfect shape save for the odor.

Good luck
Kingsley have some good thinking, but I have another one, if nil she has told you works. You know those dryer sheets that you throw surrounded by the dryer with respectively load to lift out the static, and make things smell upright? Well toss a bunch of those in the freezer and close it for nearly a week. I'll bet when you open it, the freezer smell will be gone. Good luck.
