Just wondering how you take care of yours mine say machine wash and electrical device dry but ive found Eddie Bauer washing instructions to be kinda wrong. I mean I have another shirt that said it could be washed in the wsher cold an I did and it shrank. I enjoy washed these a few times in the washer but it seem like that dont look good after awile. Personally Edie Bauer clothes to me are process overpriced and not very good talent IMHO, but they have good sale sometimes.
Answers: I have several linen shirts in unlit colors (and one light one). Various manufacturers, none of them Eddie Bauer. I used to babe linen like you, but over time I've discovered (and my wife agrees) that you can, and probably should, beat linen up as much as you want. I bathe mine in the normal cycle surrounded by cold water with the rest of the dimness colors, and run it through the dryer (on low/medium heat only; I don't dry anything but towels on high). They're still fine, the blue one is more or less five years old now and looks great. Linen get softer the more you wear and wash it and it's actually a hugely strong fiber. You'll have to iron it if you don't like the rumply look, but the rumply look is what linen does with ease. Short answer, I wouldn't bother babying it as you are if I were you, linen should stand up to much rougher treatment.
