a Line Outside or Do You Use a Dryer?
Does the dryer really use a lot of electricity?
Thanks!!
if you enjoy an efficiency dryer..then no..it wont use up alot of electricity. If you hold allergies..it would be better to use a dryer or just hang dry it surrounded by the house. i line dry almost everything...when the weather is good outside...when it rain or is cold ..i use the dryer...
I always use a dryer. We hold an energy efficient dryer and it may use $20 a month to dry clothes. At 1.25 a nouns to wash and 1.50 to dry a load at a laundry mat I do better drying them at home surrounded by the dryer. Hanging them outside they are stiff, get bugs and spiders in them, and they don't smell fresh. With the cost of electricity surrounded by the UK I dry outside if possible. I put towels in the dryer after row drying on the last 10 minutes of time which is a cold tumble and that softens them. They also smell lovely when they come of the line, take you back to your childhood on 'clean sheets day'.
Answers: I live in a canyon that is to say prone to collecting pollution. So I had hubby rig up a closet rod in the laundry room so that I can nouns dry clothing. I use the dryer briefly to toss out the wrinkles and hang dry garments the rest of the way. Only towels and sheets win the full treatment. My dryer not only uses a lot of electricity, but inborn gas, too.
http://energyaudit-sdge.sempra.com/appca... Here is a cost estimator so you can figure out how much your washer and dryer cost to operate.
I have one of those racks that unfold that I have started baggy my clothes on to dry. If you decide to do this, make sure you put Downy surrounded by the rinse cycle so your clothes will not be stiff. I have saved much money doing this and your clothes will later longer too! I use drying racks, inside during the summer (having a dog who thinks pulling clothes off the rank is a great game) and in the winter I hang them on clotheslines surrounded by the basement. I only use the dryer for underwear and towels.
I always dry my clothes surrounded by the dryer keeps my clothes unwrinkled and keeps the smell of my detergent on my clothes.if your worried roughly your electricity bill go wash your clothes at a laundromat.you'll probably spend wash and dry'n like $2.50-$3.00 max on a load. In the summer we use our clothes column a lot, and in the winter we use our dryer, but we also hold a line in the crypt that we hang our shirts off of to nouns dry. Even an energy efficiant dryer will still cost more then nouns drying outside.
You also have another option...an indoor drying rack...I use one and they work in good health. I use it in conjunction with the dryer.
