how do you dry clothes in the dryer minus making them shrink?

what types of fabrics shrink and what types dont?

Answers:    Cottons, rayons, tencels, and nylon can shrink a fair amount (as can woolens, which also felt). Polyester is pretty stable. Heat damages lycra/spandex/anidex/polyurethane and also raw latex elastics, causing them to pod, stretch and lose elasticity.

Consider using a warm dryer (rather than hot) and taking out the clothes and limp them up as soon as they're moderately dry (rather than bone-dry). You'll have taken the wrinkles and most of the lint out and decrease the surface abrasion from tumbling, as well as reduced shrinkage.
Check the tag to see if you should lay them flat to dry or put them in the dryer.
