My inlaws said that I could use their old wide freezer that is contained by an old house on the property for my chickens this year. They thought that they have completly cleaned it out before unplugging it.
Well they did bear everything out of it. But the bottom of it is covered with frozen rotten blood. The house that it is within has not a soul in it so within the summer it is hot and the winter it is frozen. Right now it is adjectives frozen,but it still stinks.
How should I clean it?Should I verbs it now while it is still cold out?Or should I hang around until it is warmer so that the blood melt first.Should I leave the lid plain a few days before cleaning I be thinking about pouring hot hose down in first to thaw it all and next soak it up with broadsheet towels,but then what should I use to verbs it?To get the smell out?And manufacture sure that it is safe to store food contained by?I would just vote no thanks to the freezer,I already enjoy the chicks and there is no course that I can afford buying a deep freezer foreign that size ($1000.00)
Answers: you don't really say the amount of stuff within there; but anyway, at hand should be a drainage vent somewhere around the bottom. you should be able to spread out that and then perchance attach tubing or an old hose to consent to the melted stuff drain. add on your hot water, drain it, after close the vent, add more hot wet and about 1 fragment bleach for each member water, and permit that sit at least 10 minutes. you might want to repeat this if the smell's not gone. after you drain the bleach, move the freezer and check the floor underneath, and check for any drainage pan under the freezer. wipe down adjectives the surfaces inside and out, and especially the seal, near bleach solution.
your food should go into the freezer very well wrapped so that it won't make actual contact next to the freezer, but the smell is something you have to live next to. you also probably have a county extension agent hotline you could telephone call for further advice.

I would permit it all defrost First consequently give it a well brought-up old scrub, I am sure the smell will step after a good verbs!
