I accidentally left a stick of chapstick in my pant while attempting to soften them up.
My two favorite items, my blue jeans and a blue shirt, now hold about 15 spots on them the size of a penny that make the clothes look approaching a darker shade than they actually are (as if wet drops were sprinkled on.. same look)
What do I do to get rid of the spots? I wash them a few times but they're still on the clothes, sadly.
there's a dollar tree brand of stain remover that may help. It comes contained by a short wide jar and it's called m-30, I believe. For $1 it does great stuff. I only used it on chocolate that had been on a shirt and I have washed and dried it (dryers set in stains) and be able to remove it with this stuff. I rubbed it contained by and scrubbed with a scrubby item until the stain came out.
Good luck. pretend you're a leopard
and then upset the living hell out of everyone
Funny thing you asked this. The exact same piece happened to my cousin's daughter. The child left her chapstick -- cherry flavored -- within the pocket. It went through both the washing appliance and the dryer. Same mess on the clothes -- all of them in the dryer!
My aunt bought some "Oxi-clean" (might be Oxy-clean), the juice kind. She and I poured that on the spots and rubbed the clothes until the spots came out.
Be practical, because it will heat up and your fingers will get red from the grill (burning sensation).
After doing that, run the clothes back through the washer, then check to see if the spots are gone. DO NOT RUN THROUGH THE DRYER AGAIN IF THE SPOTS ARE NOT GONE YET. If not all the same gone, repeat the process.
Once spots are gone, THEN you can dry the clothes again.
Remember to wash the oxy-clean off your hand.
Always check pockets before washing/drying clothes. (Lesson learned the easier said than done way.)
Answers: Apply a liquid dish soap, such as Dawn, directly to the stains. Let it sit for give or take a few 30 minutes and then launder as usual.
