What are some home remedies you can do to "shampoo" your carpet if you don't have the actual mat shampoo? Can you use other cleaning products like windex? Any suggestions?
Even when I use a carpet cleaner I use Tide beside bleach. I have white carpet
I would not use Windex - you can actually use your everyday laundry detergent diluted with 2 parts marine. This will make a foam - then after you scrub next to a brush - then rub the spots off near clean old towels - use lots of them.
Be sure to vacuum your runner well beforehand. My Aunt using windex for cleaning almost everything. Never has a problem near it. I wouldn't use it for cleaning carpet.
Answers: You are in luck as I purely ran across this problem today. I have a Kirby, so I a short time ago used laundry detergent. I figured it cleans fabric and mat is fabric.
For the cost, I'm going to keep using my laundry soap (liquid).
I also pretreated spots near a cheap spot treatment.
