I want to clean areas of my runner with a handkerchief and some form of soap. But I am not sure what to use. I am not in a situation where on earth I can have my home steam cleaned. What would be worthy for cleaning with cloth and soap?

Answers:    You can use anything that doesn't have bleach within it. Ammonia takes cleans and take out odors very ably and the ammonia smell is gone when the carpet dries.
