Answers:    You can use any giving of carpet shampoo within a carpet cleaner. If the cleaner call for a defoamer just make the addition of a couple of tablespoons of vinegar. Good Luck!!

Make sure that you use carpet shampoo and it will be fine. I use the Wal mart brand. Don't use dish detergent or laundry detergent. Anything similar to that will leave residue and ruin your mat. It will also cause a suds nightmare. Believe me I know!!!
