i was told that conventional bleach harms the integrity of clothing. is near a bleach i can buy that is
1. not a runny liquid, but a thicker texture, similar to toothpaste or paint, and
2. will not harm the integrity of the fibers surrounded by the clothing.

OR are there some cloths (specifically, t-shirt materials) that can be bleached to label them lighter, but are resiliant against being tatty by bleach? much thanks!
Answers:    Bleaching white clothes near lemon juice. Mix 1/2 cup lemon liquid (or use sliced lemons) and one gallon of really hot water together (figure B). Soak the clothes that involve bleaching. Do not use this trick on silk. But, this is perfect for white socks and underwear¡ªeven white polyester shirts. This can sit out from an hour to overnight, depending on how weakly the clothing needs bleaching. Once they soak, remove the clothing from the mix and pour the mix into the wash machine and clear up as usual. You can't over-bleach using lemon juice.
20 mule troop borax, but its a powder, not a paste-
Borax, or sodium borate, is natural and environmentally locked, will brighten clothes and is safe for almost any yard goods.

non-chlorine oxygen bleach products, products that release oxygen atoms when mixed with hose down (labeled "oxi-boosted') these come in liquid, pastes and powders, but you must read the label... other chemicals can be added to this that can damage fabric.
