I have an old claw foot tub that needs cleaning. Everytime I clean it, the dirt eventually shows through, I rent an apartment so, I don't want to repeat the tub just clean it. Is at hand anyway to clean it so the stains won't show through, using household cleaners??

Try bleach beside a brush. Rinse it out after 10 minutes and dry it out.

Answers:    If stains are showing through, most likely the tub finish is wearing out. When that happen, the cast iron under the porcelain get exposed to a little water, it rusts, and stains. You can't do abundantly about that. Also, if the finish is wearing out, it will be rough and tend to hang on to dirt. I'd scrub near some Comet and a sponge, , maybe a little bleach, rinse economically, and the tub will be clean even if it's stained and doesn't look so good.
