Baking soda... if you enjoy carpet sprinkle the baking soda on the carpet. Let it set on the runner for a while (I let it set on the carpet for a week while we go on vacation) then vacuum up. The smell should be gone. If you don't have hearth rug you could try setting bowls of baking soda around your basement. It should absorb the odor.
